Responsibilities

Provide legal advice to business and functional partners regarding the risks related to all aspects of human capital management, including recruiting, hiring, managing and disciplining employees, based on applicable employment laws and regulations, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, EPA, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, FCRA, and state labor and wage laws
Ability to advise off-the-cuff on Employment Law matters that come up with the workforce
Strong familiarity with state and federal labor and employment laws and regulations
Experience independently handling EEOC, OSHA and other employment agency matters, including drafting of position statements and mediating claims
Managing a portfolio of employment litigation, including management of outside counsel, development of strategy, setting budgets, review of pleadings, facilitating discovery, and optimizing case resolutions
Counseling business and risk partners regarding policies, procedures and templates to account for applicable employment laws and regulatory requirements
40% Employment Law Advisory, 30% Managing Portfolio of Employment Litigation, 30% Benefits and Compensation

Required

6+ years' experience in employment law, counseling/advising on employee relations matters, and managing employment litigation matters
Strong familiarity with state and federal labor and employment laws and regulations
Experience independently handling EEOC, OSHA and other employment agency matters, including drafting of position statements and mediating claims
Managing a portfolio of employment litigation, including management of outside counsel, development of strategy, setting budgets, review of pleadings, facilitating discovery, and optimizing case resolutions
Counseling business and risk partners regarding policies, procedures and templates to account for applicable employment laws and regulatory requirements
6+ years experience in the employment law space supporting a blue collar workforce
J.D. degree and membership in good standing in at least one state bar
Ability to visit office in Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (Near Vining's, Smyrna area)

Preferred

Retail, Manufacturing, or Distribution Industry experience
