Responsibilities
Be responsible for planning, execution, and delivery of an enterprise infrastructure migration program spanning x86 / distributed platforms (Windows, Linux, virtualization), Network services (LAN/WAN, firewalls, load balancing, VPN, connectivity), Storage, backup, and disaster recovery, Security services and compliance, Midrange platforms (IBM i, AIX), Mainframe platforms (IBM Z / zOS), and Service management transition (incident, change, CMDB, monitoring)
Lead a multi-tower infrastructure migration program ($10M+)
Own the integrated master plan across all infrastructure domains
Manage dependencies between applications, platforms, networks, and security
Establish and run program governance (steering committees, PMO cadence, RAID, KPIs)
Coordinate service towers to ensure alignment across compute, network, storage, security, midrange, and mainframe
Oversee cutover planning, execution, and command-center operations
Ensure operational readiness, runbook completion, and formal service handoff
Drive issue resolution, risk mitigation, and executive communication
Develop program plan with assistance from internal and external support organizations
Manage and communicate with the staff associated with the program, including the business stakeholders, to deliver the program plan
Lead and execute program/projects in a transparent and productive way, applying standard project management practices
Develop the program charter establishing the program's key objectives, participants and scope, and communicates it effectively
Plan, schedule, and track program deliverables and milestones using Microsoft Project
Establish Program and Project Change controls as well as Program and Project risk management processes
Ensure the development of the individual project charter(s) establishing the project's key objectives, participants and scope, and communicate it effectively
Oversee the individual project plans, schedules, and project deliverables and milestones using Microsoft Project to ensure they link to the overall program
Ensure that user acceptance testing has been conducted
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
Manage all program changes and actively addresses any program issues
Coach and mentor junior Project Managers
Qualification
Required
10+ years in infrastructure program or project management
5+ years leading large-scale infrastructure or data center migrations
Experience governing programs spanning network, compute, storage, security, midrange, and mainframe
Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
Demonstrated experience managing programs involving Mainframe (IBM Z / zOS) and IBM i (AS/400) and/or AIX
Experience coordinating parallel migrations and coexistence across distributed systems, midrange platforms, and mainframe environments
Prior experience leading infrastructure migrations involving Physical and virtual data centers, lift-and-shift, re-platform, and hybrid models, complex cutovers with limited downtime windows, decommissioning of legacy environments, and transition to managed service providers
Proven experience managing outsourced infrastructure and MSP relationships
Ability to hold vendors accountable to SLAs, milestones, and contractual commitments
Experience governing large, multi-tower service providers across infrastructure domains
