GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS CONSULTANT III - 64007229
The Florida Department of Health is seeking a Government Operations Consultant III for their Early Steps Program. The role involves providing operational support activities related to the administration and coordination of the program, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and developing processes to standardize practices.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Supports the management team’s efforts related to services under Chapter 391, Florida Statutes, (F.S.) for Early Steps, in addition to the federal requirements and regulations of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part C. This includes the development of project plans, resource management, time management, communications, and procurement activities
Coordination, documentation, and management of identified projects in response to request for information as directed
Maintain Early Steps Program website and educational materials as required
Review and edit of documents, presentations, and external facing materials to ensure alignment with Division and Departmental preferences
Manage newborn hearing screening equipment and provide support to Local Early Steps Programs related to the equipment and screening practices
Research early childhood policy, IDEA Part C federal requirements and best practices from other states to assist in the development of programmatic policies and operations
Participates on, or coordinates various work groups, teams, committees, and conferences related to program-related issues
Develops processes and procedures to standardize practices throughout the Early Steps Program
Performs other work-related duties as requested
Qualification
Required
Three years of experience working in early intervention administration and the Individuals with Disabilities Act, Part C
Three years of experience working with Word Press, Adobe editing products, and editing documents using AP style and other Department of Health brand guidance
Minimum - Valid Drivers License
Knowledge of early intervention programs and service delivery system for infants and toddlers and the continuum of care for children with special health/developmental needs
Knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Word Press, Canva, Adobe products such as Photoshop Creative Cloud) and database systems
Knowledge of the principles of all automated office equipment
Knowledge of confidentiality rules
Knowledge of contracts and contract management practices
Knowledge of quality improvement techniques and strategies
Skilled at editing documents, presentations, and materials using AP style, as well as brand kits and Department of Health requirements
Ability to search the Internet for business related information
Ability to read, research, and interpret federal and state statute
Ability to review, classify, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data and/or information
Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral formats
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Ability to work effectively across agency lines
Ability to organize work and make independent decisions
Ability to work independently on difficult or complex tasks
Ability to understand and carry out complicated oral and written instructions
Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to follow through on issues in a timely manner
Ability to be flexible, work effectively with interruptions and at a fast pace and produce quality work in highly stressful situations
Ability to work under stress and maintain a pleasant, courteous interaction with others
Possess reliable work habits, being punctual and showing effective time management skills
Ability to problem-solve with families, paraprofessionals, and professionals to support or meet a child's and or a family's needs
Ability to travel
Preferred
Master's degree in public health, public administration, social work, or early childhood education
