InternThe City of Galveston is seeking motivated students to participate in its Internship Program within the Coastal Resources Division. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in local government operations with a focus on Coastal Resource Management, providing students with opportunities to develop professional skills and network with local government professionals.

Responsibilities
Interns will receive project assignments through the Development Services Department, designed to provide broad exposure to local government operations with a focus on Coastal Resource Management
Students with an interest in environmental stewardship, public engagement, and regulatory processes are encouraged to apply
Interns will gain experience in: Coastal resource and environmental management, Surveying and basic geomorphology, Permitting processes for development projects, Local government operations and interdepartmental collaboration
Through the Internship Program, interns will have the opportunity to: Explore career interests and professional goals, Network with local government professionals, Expand knowledge of municipal operations, Develop practical, field-related skills
Qualification
Required
Currently completing coursework toward a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Maritime Resource Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field
Completion of at least 25% of the required degree curriculum at an accredited college or university
Actively pursuing the degree at the time of application
Demonstrate an interest in public service
Possess strong leadership, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Preferred
Individuals who have earned a qualifying degree within six (6) months of applying may also be considered
