Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in music
A record of, or clear potential for, professional development presentations at conferences
Demonstrated leadership potential in the field
Demonstrated success in teaching music theory at the college/university levels (including graduate assistantships)
Preferred
Doctoral degree in music theory
Three or more years of experience teaching music at the college/university level
Competence in and engagement with vernacular, popular, indigenous, and non-Western musical practices
Understanding of and experience with teaching populations that reflect UIC's urban student body
