Community Engagement Host
Marbles Kids Museum is a vibrant, nonprofit children’s museum and IMAX Theatre located in the heart of downtown Raleigh. They are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Community Engagement Host to lead engaging, play-based programming that inspires young learners to learn through play. The role involves facilitating offsite play-based learning experiences and representing Marbles at community events.

Responsibilities
Facilitate offsite play-based learning experiences, including driving, setup, delivery, and breakdown
Share information about Marbles’ play-based programs and services
Support access programs (e.g., Ready Set School, Access Playdates) by assisting with setup, leading activities, welcoming guests, and ensuring an inclusive, positive experience
Represent Marbles at community events by staffing informational tables, engaging attendees, answering questions, and distributing materials
Provide exceptional, proactive customer service by initiating and engaging in interactions with museum guests
Direct volunteers to ensure smooth and efficient program operations
Support and serve as the main point of contact for guest stars throughout their appearance as needed
Collect informal data, such as participant counts and surveys
Communicate scheduling, equipment, and operational needs to your supervisor
Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated ability to lead informal educational programs for children in a museum, camp, or similar setting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable initiating conversations and approaching attendees in a friendly, welcoming manner
Reliability and professionalism when representing the organization in the community
Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Walking, standing, stooping, bending, and reaching
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Exposure to a noisy and crowded atmosphere
Driving or being driven to programs
May need to walk between two buildings with some outdoor exposure
Flexible schedule required, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
Required: Thursdays 3:30PM-7:30PM and Saturdays (10-15 hrs/week)
Preferred
1 year of customer service experience, particularly with families and young children
Museum, preschool, or equivalent experience is a plus
Weekday summer availability preferred
