Senior Multimedia Coordinator
St. Charles Parish Government is seeking a Senior Multimedia Coordinator who will manage the Parish’s technical production operations for multi-platform communications. Responsibilities
Operates a variety of video, audio, and lighting equipment for broadcasting and online distribution of regularly scheduled meetings of St. Charles Parish as well as other community meetings, special events, and specially scheduled meetings on a year-round basis
Works with Parish departments to coordinate, produce and manage video and multimedia productions for web, broadcast, and social media use with both internal and external audiences from program conception to final product
Performs specialized technical work to design print, digital, animated, and interactive materials
Provides customer service to Parish staff and officials by answering questions, addressing problems, providing technical guidance for their presentations and training staff in use and benefits of media systems
Coordinates agency requests for video media services
Responds and assists the public with public information requests
Performs website implementation and maintenance on the Parish’s website and Broadcasting Server
Works with vendors to resolve issues and implement new technology
Performs and assists still photography, video recording, editing, sound recording and mixing. Photographs, edits, and archives photography for the Parish
Serve on Command Staff for EOC during emergencies. Participates in emergency planning, preparation, and response for live content feeds
Oversees ordering print projects for the Parish
Files and archives materials as needed
Maintains relationships with members of the media across multiple areas spanning from print, broadcast, online/social media, and trade
Maintains positive working relationships with all staff, contracted businesses/organizations, and volunteers. Must keep direct lines of customer friendly communication open with the public
Maintains inventory of media resource and equipment library; storage media and equipment; instructs other users on operation of equipment
Research new technological advances and recommend changes and new strategies to improve and increase effectiveness and reach
Receives quotes, makes recommendations, and creates purchase orders for new equipment for the office as needed
Perform additional duties as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting, Journalism, Mass Communications, or related field required
Five years' experience in communications and media relations required
Demonstrated experience in working with graphic design, website management, CMS systems, video production, broadcast, internet-based media, and audio/visual operation required
Strong communication skills through email, phone, in-person, and virtually with both internal and external customers
Excellent computer skills and software management with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Lightroom, Illustrator, Photoshop), CMS system
Knowledge of public communication plan development and the production of support materials
Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and external partners
Knowledge of significant technical and aesthetic aspects of multimedia production, from concept development to post-production, including video recording, animation, video editing, lighting, audio recording, and audio dubbing and compression
Knowledge of presentation of multimedia material on the Web and social media environment with detailed knowledge of video production and functional knowledge of web posting, social media dynamics, new media analytics, basic design, and marketing
Ability to train others in video, photography, and related editing technologies
Ability to troubleshoot equipment under pressure and provide technical support
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and work within tight deadlines, while maintaining disciplined focus on program goals and measurable objectives
Strong attention to detail and the ability to solve problems
Ability to supervise staff in work tasks and functional duties
