Program Engineer
Consumers Energy is Michigan’s largest energy provider, committed to delivering reliable, clean, and affordable energy to its customers. The Program Engineer is responsible for managing engineering and technical activities for assigned projects, ensuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion, particularly for the Ludington Pumped Storage Corrective Work project.

Responsibilities
Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects
Build strong partnerships with business partners and obtain a solid understanding their business goals
Support the Agile project delivery cadence by helping balance team performance with tight deadlines
Review vendor submittals and mechanical drawings for accuracy and compliance
Verify mechanical fitment and ensure proper integration of components
Assist with outage planning, scheduling, and resource coordination
Support outage execution, including on-site quality control and issue resolution
Oversee mechanical contractors to ensure adherence to project standards
Review and approve welding work per specifications and quality requirements
Participate in outage close-out activities, including documentation and lessons learned
Other duties as assigned or may be necessary
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program OR Engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited program plus a Professional Engineering license and 2 - 4 years of experience in program engineering roles or related work
Written and verbal communication skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD
Proficient in MS Office, with aptitude for learning new software
Organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong understanding of GD&T principles
Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
Preferred
Preferred degree in Mechanical Engineering
Prefer welding experience
Ability and desire to become a Certified Weld Inspector (CWI)
