Director, Financial Operations

Resolvion is seeking a Director of Financial Operations to lead and unify the company’s transactional finance functions. This role focuses on improving billing accuracy, cash predictability, and operational efficiency while managing teams across Billing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Collections.

Responsibilities

Own and continuously improve the full transactional finance lifecycle: Contract → Operations → Billing → AR → Collections → Cash → Reporting
Define clear ownership, handoffs, and minimum data requirements across departments
Ensure upstream data accuracy supports timely and accurate billing and cash collection
Eliminate ambiguity around responsibility by documenting processes and expectations
Lead Billing, AP, AR, and Collections teams with a focus on execution quality and accountability
Consolidate overlapping workflows to reduce redundancy and manual rework
Manage SLAs related to billing turnaround, queue management, and issue resolution
Reduce billing errors, credit memos, and missed or delayed billing opportunities
Partner closely with Operations, Dispatch, IT, FP&A, Compliance, Sales, and Accounting
Educate teams on how upstream actions impact billing accuracy, cash flow, and customer performance
Align departments on responsibilities, escalation paths, and performance expectations
Serve as the finance operations lead for cross-functional process and system discussion
Embed strong data controls directly into workflows rather than relying on downstream fixes
Maintain First Time Pass (FTP) rates and reduce rework and exception handling
Support system automation initiatives by defining requirements, validating outputs, and ensuring adoption
Maintain clean audit trails and support internal and external audit requests
Define, track, and report key operational finance metrics, including: First Time Pass rate, Billing cycle time and backlog, AR aging and collections performance, Cash application and reconciliation timeliness
Partner with FP&A to connect operational performance to financial results
Use data to identify root causes and drive corrective action
Identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve scalability, and eliminate inefficiencies
Reduce reliance on CFO involvement in day-to-day transactional execution
Build a scalable operating model that supports growth without incremental overhead
Support special projects, audits, and transformation initiatives as requested by leadership

Required

8+ years of experience in finance operations, accounting operations, or shared services
Direct experience leading Billing, AP, AR, and/or Collections teams
Demonstrated success in process redesign, controls improvement, and operational transformation
Experience partnering cross-functionally with Operations and IT
Intermediate Excel Skills (SUM, Pivot tables, SUMIFS, Filter and subtotal)
Experience with data tools (Tableau, Power BI, Power Automate preferred)
Comfort working with large datasets and multiple operational systems
Strong operational and analytical judgment to identify process breakdowns, assess risk, and make decisions that impact billing accuracy, cash flow, and customer relationships
Ability to identify root causes across complex, multi-department processes
Ability to connect operational behavior to financial outcomes
Strong attention to detail with a systems-level mindset
Ability to clearly explain expectations and processes to non-finance partners
Ability to simplify complex workflows and drive alignment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrates follow-through and accountability
Builds trust through consistency, clarity, and execution
Self-motivated and team-oriented
Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving structure
Maintains confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including model building, pivot tables, and multi-criteria functions
Familiarity with ERP and BI systems; ability to learn new systems quickly
Quickly learns and achieves proficiency in new software applications as needed
