Resource Development & Evaluation Intern
The Michigan Moves Coalition is a statewide partnership focused on creating a healthier, more active Michigan. The Resource Development & Evaluation Intern will support the design of implementation resources and evaluation frameworks to help sector committees achieve their objectives and support community-based physical activity initiatives.

Responsibilities
Create practical implementation toolkits, templates, and step-by-step guides that help communities replicate evidence-based physical activity programs
Design simple logic models and program planning documents that clarify objectives, activities, and expected outcomes
Develop sector-specific resources (e.g., workplace physical activity assessment tools, youth sports LTAD rubrics, healthcare provider training)
Support development of 'success story' collection frameworks and submission forms
Help design simple, feasible evaluation plans for sector committee initiatives (e.g., CEO Physical Activity Pledge tracking, parks and recreation center utilization data collection)
Identify appropriate process and outcome metrics for physical activity programs across diverse settings
Create data collection templates, surveys, and tracking tools for coalition partners
Research and compile evidence-based measurement tools and validated instruments for physical activity assessment
Conduct targeted literature reviews on best practices in physical activity promotion, implementation science, and community-based program evaluation
Identify and summarize evidence-based physical activity interventions relevant to Michigan's sector committees
Research existing physical activity plans, toolkits, and resources from other states that can inform Michigan's work
Compile data on physical activity prevalence, disparities, and trends in Michigan
Support sector committees in developing tactical plans to achieve their 12-18 month objectives
Help create project timelines, work plans, and milestone tracking documents
Assist in identifying potential barriers to implementation and evidence-based strategies to address them
Support development of grant applications and funding proposals for sector physical activity initiatives
Help organize and analyze data from coalition surveys, sector committee activities, and partner reports
Create simple data visualizations (charts, graphs, dashboards) that communicate program progress and impact
Support basic data analysis and interpretation for evaluation reports
Qualification
Required
Current graduate student (MPH or MS in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Public Health, Health Behavior, Epidemiology, or related field) OR recent graduate with relevant coursework
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar data management tools
Clear, concise writing ability for creating practical tools and resources
Understanding of logic models, program planning frameworks, and basic evaluation principles
Interest in physical activity promotion, community health, and health equity
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Preferred
Experience with survey design tools (Qualtrics, Google Forms, SurveyMonkey)
Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Excel dashboards, Canva for infographics)
Understanding of physical activity guidelines, measurement tools, and assessment methods
Awareness of implementation science principles
Experience with resource development
