Responsibilities

Participate in technical discussions and shadow incident response/threat hunts/security validation/other projects
Develop and enhance SecOps automation including rapid incident response capabilities and SOC optimization
Creating technical documentation, reports, and dashboards
Support SOC with research and optimization; Create and tune detection logic; Log ingestion gap analysis
Assist in identifying and remediating vulnerabilities within Calix systems

Required

Student currently pursuing a degree in a technical field, preferably Information Security related, with at least two years completed
Demonstrate knowledge and application of modern information security principals
Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Must be capable of assuming responsibility for assignments and time management
Able to work for the complete summer break (May - August or June - September)

Preferred

Linux sysadmin experience
Experience with automation scripting or SOAR platforms: + Python, Powershell
Experience collecting data with APIs, and creating automations, analytics, detections, and other output
Cloud DevOps experience: + Experience with Ansible or similar
Exposure to code repositories and related tasks
Experience with infrastructure-as-code
