Responsibilities

Observes, measures, and documents the performance of maintenance, procedures and employees against established standards
Manages fleet lifecycle to include procurement, receipt, preparation, and decommissioning of fleet vehicles
Audits and manages vehicle fleet inventory
Inspects physical maintenance facilities, equipment conditions, and vehicle fleet maintenance practices to ensure the overall efficiency and safety of the fleet and facility
Prepares accurate and concise reports on findings, deficiencies, recommendations, and corrective actions
Oversees and maintains accurate and current inspection records
Complies with Authority rules, industry safety practices, operational rules and testing procedures
Conducts investigations of parts, material assemblies, equipment, contractor performance, safety, procedural adherence and other industry best practices. Relay results and remediation strategies to contractors and ACCS leadership as warranted
Utilizes and accurately interprets drawings, schematics and diagnostic/repair manuals
Takes immediate corrective action to alleviate any substandard performance and make necessary notifications to ACCS leadership
Recommends, where necessary, modifications to existing testing procedures, equipment configurations and work methods to improve the overall efficiency and safety of the organizational component
Works from ladders, scaffolding, or other high-rise equipment
Operates an Authority vehicle
Maintains and promotes awareness and accountability with safety policies and procedures while performing job functions. Promotes a positive safety culture and encourages reporting of safety concerns consistent with our Agency Safety Plan, other regulatory requirements within the Safety Management System and just culture principles

Required

High School Diploma/GED
Minimum of four (4) years progressively responsible mechanical experience in fleet vehicles and facilities maintenance
Demonstrated experience performing related inspection, testing, and evaluations for transportation or maintenance systems and overseeing/monitoring transportation or maintenance personnel
Current ASE Certification in Brakes, A/C, Electrical and Engine Performance
Ability to obtain a Master ASE Certification and/or other certifications necessary to the satisfactory performance of duties within two years of employment and maintain for duration of time in role

Preferred

Four-year degree in related field
Five (5) years of master mechanic experience
ASE Certified
