Senior Application Architect
The Franklin County Auditor’s Office is dedicated to serving the community by ensuring fairness and accuracy in weight and measures across the county. They are seeking a Senior Application Architect to lead the development and implementation of complex application solutions, while also providing architectural oversight and mentoring for the application development staff.
Responsibilities
Leads development and implementation of complex, high risk, or cross system application solutions; performs hands on development work as operational needs require, including development and maintenance of web and desktop applications; performs configuration, customization, and administration of internal and external application solutions; develops software for data transformation and integration purposes; creates and maintains automated ETL processes; generates reports and analytical solutions against databases including gathering requirements, writing SQL queries, validating results against other data sources, and assisting business units in troubleshooting data inconsistencies
Defines, develops, and governs enterprise application architecture, integration patterns, and technical standards; designs and oversees solutions supporting business process and data integration; develops application roadmaps and modernization strategies; analyzes business requirements and scopes programming tasks to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical standards
Reviews, evaluates, and approves architectural designs, technical approaches, and implementation plans; provides guidance to refine solutions; ensures consistency, maintainability, and sustainability across applications
Evaluates emerging technologies, platforms, and tools; performs analysis and prepares technical recommendations for senior leadership regarding adoption, modernization, and long-term application strategy
Provides architectural oversight of hosting environments, performance, scalability, availability, and security; identifies service requirements, component capacities, and load considerations in support of planned business growth; performs hands on involvement in infrastructure or environment configuration as operationally required
Mentors and develops application development staff; provides technical guidance, design feedback, and establishes best practices; supports development of future technical leaders and promotes continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information management systems, or related discipline
Five (5) or more years of progressive application development and architecture experience
Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SQL, T SQL, ETL, IIS, .NET, JavaScript, XML, JSON, HTML5, and CSS3
Any combination of training, education, or experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position
