Payroll and System Analyst
The Christman Company is a leading national general contractor seeking a Payroll System Analyst in Lansing, MI. The role focuses on ensuring accurate payroll processing, supporting the payroll function, and enhancing payroll systems through analytical and technical skills.

Responsibilities
Prepares payroll reporting for certified payrolls, OCIP/CCIP, and union fringes
Assists payroll manager to create annual team objectives
Escalates potential service issues to payroll manager
Identifies process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes
Covers for team members in back-up role for vacation and/or high-volume work efforts
Participate as a team member to achieve successful support and enhancements of payroll systems
Work with internal teams and with vendor consultants to properly support payroll applications
Manage the day-to-day operational needs of the payroll systems environment
Perform daily configuration support of payroll systems to monitor the functionality and provide troubleshooting support for end user reported issues
Develop and modify reports, analytics, metrics, and dashboards for payroll management applications
Assist in testing major releases, identifying impact and enhancement opportunities associated with a new release, and communicating appropriately to payroll end users
Monitor and process, as assigned, the various integrations to outside systems that are in production
Covers for team members in back-up role for vacation and/or high-volume work efforts
Actively participate identify any potential issues as well as identify any new solutions to existing issues
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business or related job field
Four (4) years of experience with job costing, prevailing wages, and union environments
Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience
Have the ability to interact with and develop effective working relationships with a wide range of people, including internal and external customers, in different situations
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Able to plan, schedule, and organize tasks while completing work within established deadlines
Ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction, take responsibility for own actions, and keep commitments
Must have excellent written and oral skills
Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Have a passion for team-based planning and problem-solving
Have a wholehearted commitment to building strong partnerships to support project goals
Preferred
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
Solid knowledge of FMLA, HIPAA, COBRA, and other benefit related regulations
Proficiency using Payroll systems such as Workday, Vista, and ADP
