Inventory Manager
Transco, a part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings, is seeking an Inventory Manager to oversee inventory control and warehouse operations across their railcar repair facilities in the United States and Canada. The role involves ensuring accurate inventory records, material availability, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements while partnering with various departments and providing oversight to inventory personnel.

Responsibilities
Works closely with location-level personnel to identify and assist in the resolution of parts, materials, and inventory-related issues
Supports sourcing decisions for program and third-party repair work
Ensures materials are received, stored, managed, and transacted accurately in accordance with company policies and procedures
Manages aging inventory and prepares inventory analysis and reporting for location and corporate leadership
Leads rollout and ongoing execution of company policies, procedures, and programs related to inventory control, procurement, data management, and reporting
Monitors inventory accuracy metrics and implements corrective actions when issues are identified
Ensures compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements
Provides regular material status updates to ensure KPIs are accurate and up to date
Supports locations with vendor coordination and Accounts Payable to resolve materials and invoicing issues
Understands and supports cross-border logistics, customs documentation, and regulatory requirements related to inventory movement
Promotes safe, organized, and efficient warehouse operations, including layout optimization and 5S practices
Maintains working knowledge of purchasing and inventory systems
Engages cross-functional teams to support operational goals and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualification
Required
5+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, inventory control, materials management, or warehouse operations
Railcar industry experience required
Demonstrated experience supporting multiple locations using indirect reporting relationships
Strong knowledge of inventory control principles, including cycle counting and inventory accuracy metrics
Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently while effectively influencing cross-functional teams
Ability to travel up to 70% to company locations
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred
Railcar repair experience preferred
