Manufacturing Engineer
Edge Staffing is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in process engineering and continuous improvement. The role focuses on manufacturing process development, SOP creation, root cause analysis, and production optimization for mechanically complex products.
Responsibilities
Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Lead process improvement, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on production, quality, and throughput issues
Support production engineering and shop-floor operations with hands-on troubleshooting
Design, improve, and support fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing methods
Analyze production data using Excel to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities
Partner with quality, production, supply chain, and engineering teams to drive improvements
Support yield improvement, cost reduction, and quality improvement initiatives
Qualification
Required
Experience in a manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or production engineering role
Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, including exposure to gear trains, hydraulics, or rotating machinery
Experience creating and maintaining SOPs, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation
Hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembly, or industrial environments
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for calculations, data analysis, and reporting
Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with operations teams
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Process Engineering
New graduates welcome with relevant internships, co-ops, or manufacturing experience
Preferred
Automotive, heavy equipment, or high-volume manufacturing experience is a strong plus
Experience in machine shop environments (manual or CNC) is beneficial
