Sustainability Data and Governance Lead
Sandisk is a leading company in the semiconductor industry, focused on innovative data solutions. They are seeking a Sustainability Data and Governance Lead to manage ESG data strategies and ensure compliance with reporting regulations.

Responsibilities
Develop and implement ESG data governance and control frameworks, including policies, methodologies, and procedures for data collection, validation, and reporting
Monitor and engage with ESG teams across the company to promote awareness and provide guidance related to measurement and management of sustainability-related metrics to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and public reporting standards
Define requirements and drive selection and implementation of ESG reporting tools, integration, and automation for compliant public reporting purposes
Engage with Internal Audit team and serve as primary point of contact for internal and external assurance audits on all ESG-related disclosures
Lead internal engagement and queries related to data collection and calculation methodologies for ESG data
Develop and manage project plans, timelines, tracking deliverables and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders across the company
Engage relevant teams and stakeholders to collect and review required data to ensure data integrity and completeness
Identify and troubleshoot issues with data, calculations, methodologies and/or results, including validating data and models
Manage program documentation, including policies and procedures, with a strong focus on compliance and controls
Define requirements for data solutions and work with stakeholders to establish user and business requirements for user-friendly and informative dashboards and tooling solutions
Develop and guide teams toward better measurement, dashboards, and KPIs; drive continuous improvement and alignment to beyond-compliance best practices
Serve as final data quality and accuracy reviewer for quarterly and annual environmental and sustainability reports for both internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership
Review methodologies and processes relative to the underlying protocols and frameworks to ensure completeness and consistency of ESG data accounting and reporting
Conduct gap analyses of ESG data and work with business partners to understand appropriate corrective actions, including measures which improve the efficiency of data capture
Review and refine models used to define and track environmental goals, performance, and projections, including Scope 1, 2, and 3, waste and water data
Review environmental data and report content in accordance with globally recognized protocols, such as CDP, GRI, TCFD, IFRS, CSRD, CSDDD, and California Climate disclosures
Stay informed on the latest developments in global sustainability disclosure regulations and requirements
Support development of compliance strategies and roadmap, with an emphasis on data requirements
Support regulatory gap assessments and gap closure work streams, such as double materiality assessment, EU taxonomy analysis, and CSRD readiness assessments and disclosure preparations
Support compliant reporting development and submission, and own development and maintenance of data controls, procedures, and their documentation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a relevant and quantitatively-intensive field (e.g., environmental science, economics, mathematics, data analytics, accounting, finance) OR a similar field with extensive quantitative coursework
Master's degree and/or advanced certifications or qualifications (e.g., GHG accounting standards) or finance (e.g. CPA, CFA) is/are a plus
8-10+ years of industry experience in data science, applied statistics, or a related quantitative field, with a track record of building data products, analytical systems and/or applied analytics
Strong foundations in statistics and quantitative reasoning—proficiency with concepts like statistical modeling, forecasting, trend analysis, and scenario planning
Demonstrable experience applying data quality controls and management using applied analytical logic and statistical validation
Experience with and patience for working with real-world data and making principled decisions about how to model, standardize, and harmonize it into reliable datasets and dataflows
Communicate complex analytical concepts clearly and tailored for a range of audiences, from global teams to project managers to customers to senior executives
Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy and ownership. Strong work ethic
