Responsibilities

Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery, and service
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors
Maintain and update vendor records, contracts, and pricing agreements in the company system
Create, issue, and track purchase orders (POs) for production materials from bills of materials (BOM). Material is typically steel pipe, plate and parts
Ensure timely delivery of materials according to project schedules and lead times
Expedite delayed orders and resolve supply issues with vendors
Work with engineering, production, and planning teams to confirm material requirements
Communicate delivery expectations and resolve discrepancies with the team and vendors
Support production planning by ensuring material availability aligns with build timelines
Monitor pricing trends and recommend cost-saving opportunities
Seek continuous improvement in procurement processes and vendor performance
Maintain accurate procurement records and contribute to spend reporting
Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and industry standards
Maintain documentation for audits, vendor qualification, and contract performance

Required

Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field
2+ years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or vendor management experience
Experience in Intuit Quickbooks
Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Access)
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities

Preferred

Manufacturing experience
Proficiency in reading technical drawings
Experience in ASME code
