Automation Engineer

Wisconsin Stamping and Manufacturing is a privately-held independent metal fabrication company. They are seeking an Automation Engineer to assist in developing robotics and automation systems, oversee automation projects, and provide technical support to ensure optimal operation of plant robots.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing robotics and automation roadmap for manufacturing facilities
Participate in the design and building of automation systems
Responsible for overseeing scope, cost, and schedule of automation projects - including system designs, bills of materials and specifications
Assist in vendor selection, specifying automation equipment and robots and gathering RFQ's
Research and stay current with best available technologies related to automation
Programming of HMI’s, PLC’s, robots, and vision systems
Testing and debugging of systems prior to placing in production
Provide technical support as required to ensure plant robots are operating and optimized, including troubleshooting and operator training
Create and maintain schematics and drawings for automation systems
Assist plant personnel in development and implementation of efficiency projects
Other duties as assigned

Required

2+ years experience in factory automation, designing, implementing, and/or maintaining industrial robotic equipment in a manufacturing environment
Strong computer skills. 3D / CAD experience - preferably SolidWorks
Able to read electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic machine schematics
Able to translate automation conceptual designs into functional systems
Ability to work independently and on a team
Positive, 'can do' attitude

Preferred

B.S. or associates degree in mechanical or electrical engineering/technology or related field
Experience Fanuc and Universal robots and vision systems
