Police ALERT Administrative Intern
NEOGOV is seeking a Police ALERT Administrative Intern for the Town of Hillsborough. This internship provides administrative, organizational, and analytical support to the Hillsborough Police Department’s ALERT program, focusing on improving community impact through data analysis and outreach activities.

Responsibilities
Assist with scheduling and coordinating ALERT operations, including maintaining calendars, tracking assignments, and supporting program logistics
Support efforts to build and maintain the ALERT buyer base by organizing contact information, tracking participation, and assisting with outreach activities
Research and identify new local businesses and partners that may be interested in participating in the ALERT program
Assist with data entry, data management, and basic data analysis related to ALERT activities, participation, and outcomes
Prepare simple reports, summaries, or spreadsheets to help staff understand trends, participation levels, and program performance
Help maintain organized digital and paper records related to ALERT operations
Provide general administrative support to Police Department staff as it relates to the ALERT program
Complete other related projects and duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Current enrollment in high school (junior or senior preferred)
Interest in local government, public service, business, data analysis, or administration
Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new software and systems
No prior work experience required
Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment
Must possess visual acuity to operate a computer and do related reading
Must be physically able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Must be able to lift or carry up to 20 pounds
Sedentary work involves walking and standing for brief periods of time
Written and verbal communication skills appropriate for a professional environment
Organizational and time-management skills
Ability to use basic software such as Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar tools
Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks by established deadlines
Ability to maintain attention to detail and produce accurate work
Ability to work cooperatively with staff and maintain positive working relationships
Ability to handle multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities
Make sound and reasonable decisions
Complete tasks by the established deadline
