This role is responsible for the accurate recording, analysis, and reporting of reinsurance financial data, overseeing reinsurance contracts, and ensuring compliance with contractual provisions.

Responsibilities
Maintain and reconcile reinsurance general ledger accounts, including ceded premiums, losses, payables, and recoverables
Prepare and process reinsurance settlements with reinsurers
Review, analyze, and reconcile bordereaux submissions
Monitor reinsurance treaties to ensure compliance with contractual terms and accurate financial reporting
Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, including preparation of reinsurance-related journal entries
Prepare reinsurance schedules for quarterly and annual statutory financial statements, including Schedule F
Monitor collateral requirements and balances
Collaborate with Claims, Underwriting, and Actuarial teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of reinsurance data across the organization
Prepare detailed reinsurance reports and analyses for senior management, auditors, and regulatory bodies
Identify opportunities to enhance reinsurance accounting processes and improve reporting efficiency
Stay current on regulatory requirements and industry developments impacting reinsurance accounting and reporting
Manage and analyze large and complex data sets with a high degree of accuracy
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Power Query, Pivot Tables, and complex lookup functions
Experience with financial accounting systems such as EAS, SAP, or Oracle
Strong knowledge of NAIC statutory accounting principles (SAP)
Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
Preferred
CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification
Experience within the Property & Casualty insurance industry, including statutory regulatory filings
Working knowledge of reinsurance treaty structures, including quota share, excess of loss, aggregate, and facultative arrangements
Experience with captive reinsurers
Familiarity with reinsurance systems such as ProCede/FIS Reinsurance Manager, Duck Creek, Sapiens, or Cenata
Experience supporting or leading software implementations
