Office Assistant 1 Keyboarding

NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities is seeking an Office Assistant 1 Keyboarding to support their administrative functions. The role involves extensive computer use, clerical tasks, and assisting with documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

Extensive use of computers (use of TABS, Billing tracking system, RIA and TRIPS database, primarily for spreadsheet applications
Receiving and organizing work to be typed, determining document format
Compiling reports for processing and distribution
Typing correspondence, documents and forms in draft and/or final form using handwritten rough drafts, marked copy, or data from various equipment as source material
Proofreading and correcting work producing accurate, clean, completed copy
Perform routine clerical and secretarial tasks including, but not limited to: answering phones, taking messages, using photo copiers, fax machines, filing, and ordering office supplies
Sending correspondence and maintaining records of responses received
Taking meeting minutes for the morning meetings and any other meeting as required and distributing
Receive, sort and distribute mail
Other duties as assigned
Review EHR notes and provide monthly reports to the Psychologist
Assist Psychologist with other duties as assigned
This will be a primary duty and all other secretarial duties will be secondary in the absence of the OA2
Other duties as assigned

Required

Candidates must be reachable for appointment on Current Civil Service Eligible List for this title
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive, non-competitive or 55-b/c status in the posted title and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1, 70.4, or 52.6 of Civil Service Law
Possess the minimum qualifications for this title as established by the Department of Civil Service and listed on the most recent exam announcement
Meet the applicable minimal mental and/or physical requirements for the job (with a reasonable accommodation, if necessary)
Have a current Eligibility Letter from the NYS Department of Civil Service and be able to provide it to the Human Resources Office upon request
