Responsibilities
Architect, design, and develop Java-based microservices for Account Galaxy products, reconciliation, and workflow systems
Lead development, testing, and implementation of banking and financial products
Design and implement secure, versioned RESTful APIs for internal and external financial integrations
Build and maintain AWS serverless components, including:
AWS Lambda
API Gateway
SQS, SNS
Step Functions
Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and idempotency across transaction flows
Apply Java design patterns and enterprise architecture principles to manage complex financial logic
Develop robust unit and integration tests using JUnit to ensure system stability and financial accuracy
Lead technical design reviews, architecture discussions, and code quality initiatives
Optimize applications for low latency and high-throughput transaction processing
Collaborate closely with product, compliance, security, and DevOps teams to deliver regulated financial solutions
Review, debug, and enhance code quality across services
Address production issues requiring immediate attention and resolution
Adapt quickly to change while working with onsite and offshore teams
Mentor and guide junior and mid-level developers
Work independently while meeting strict timelines
Operate effectively in a fast-paced Agile environment with a strong focus on quality and excellence
Qualification
Required
10+ years of application development and implementation experience
Extensive hands-on experience in Java development within Payments or FinTech environments
Strong expertise in: Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Framework
Experience with messaging middleware such as: Kafka, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ
Strong experience designing RESTful APIs, including: Authentication & authorization, API versioning
Hands-on experience with AWS serverless architecture
Strong understanding of: Java design patterns, SOLID principles, Clean architecture
Solid experience with RDBMS (MySQL preferred), JPA, and Hibernate
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as: Maven, Jenkins, GitHub
Cloud experience, preferably AWS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
Preferred
Experience with caching solutions such as: Hazelcast, Redis, Oracle Coherence
Background in Scrum / Agile development
Job scheduling experience using: Azkaban, Spring Quartz, Autosys
Financial domain knowledge, preferably in: Deposit products, Cards, Escrow, Other account types
Experience with Business Process Modeling tools such as Flowable
Familiarity with distributed tracing, logging, and monitoring, including: CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk
Experience implementing: Idempotency, Exactly-once processing, Reconciliation workflows
