Responsibilities

Lead and mentor an engineering team, fostering professional growth, high morale, and a culture of continuous learning
Define the roadmap for GCS Metadata Store in partnership with stakeholders, aligning technical strategy with customer needs
Oversee the design and operation of metadata schemas and services supporting high-performance features like Hierarchical Namespace and Rapid Storage
Drive improvements in reliability and scalability while maintaining high standards for production health and on-call execution
Collaborate across the GCS stack and with product management to ensure successful feature integration and resource optimization

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience
8 years of experience in software development
5 years of experience with large-scale storage technologies
5 years of experience with cloud-based infrastructure
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role
2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role

Preferred

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field
3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization
Experience working with a high performance large-scale data pipeline
