State & Local Tax (SALT) Manager
Cango Inc. is seeking a full-time State & Local Tax (SALT) Manager with a primary focus on U.S. Sales & Use Tax compliance and planning. This role will support the company’s expanding U.S. operations across multiple states and work closely with finance, legal, and business teams to ensure compliance and tax efficiency.

Responsibilities
Manage multi-state sales and use tax compliance, including registrations, return filings, payments, and reconciliations
Monitor and interpret changes in U.S. state and local tax laws and assess their impact on business operations
Identify and support the application of applicable sales tax exemptions and incentives, including but not limited to data center exemptions, trade-in exemptions, and bulk sale exemptions
Provide transaction-level tax advice on procurement, asset transfers, intercompany transactions, and cross-state operations
Support state and local tax audits, notices, and inquiries, coordinating with external advisors when necessary
Assist with U.S. income tax–related matters, including coordination of federal and state income tax filings and provision of information to external tax advisors
Support U.S. property tax compliance, including data collection, filing support, and review of assessments
Assist in evaluating tax implications of new business models, investments, and operational changes in the U.S
Identify potential U.S. tax risks and exposures arising from business expansion and increased transaction volume
Assist in establishing and improving internal tax processes, controls, and documentation
Provide guidance and training to finance and business teams on U.S. tax compliance and basic planning considerations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field
5–10 years of U.S. SALT experience, with a strong focus on Sales & Use Tax
Practical experience managing multi-state sales tax compliance and exemptions
Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply complex tax rules to real business scenarios
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Ability to support U.S. business hours as required
Preferred
Experience with Big Four or large public accounting firms
Working knowledge of U.S. income tax and property tax concepts
