Principal Pharmacist - Quality Assurance (QA)

HCA Healthcare UK is a leading healthcare provider in the UK, currently seeking a Principal Pharmacist with expertise in Quality Assurance to join their Pharmacy Team at the Leaders in Oncology Care site. The role involves leading the QA pharmacy team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic leadership in pharmaceutical quality management.

Responsibilities

Developing, monitoring and leading on the provision of a high quality, patient focused, quality assurance (QA) pharmacy service which consistently meets regulatory requirements
Leading the QA pharmacy team and provide senior strategic leadership on all aspects of quality assurance in relation to pharmaceutical manufacturing and preparation in HCA aseptic services
Leading with respect to all quality and regulatory aspects of design, commissioning and maintenance of HCA aseptic units
Working with and support the accountable pharmacist who is responsible for all aspects of the services within all HCA aseptic preparation units
Implementing and maintaining the pharmaceutical quality management system, to underpin the principles of medication safety and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
Leading on service and professional development, audit and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs)
Being a key stakeholder for relevant Quality Improvement Project(s) (QIPs)
Developing and providing training, education and mentorship to pharmacists and technical staff

Required

Registration with the GPHC
Additional post graduate clinical qualifications e.g. Diploma in Pharmacy Practice and Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance
Minimum 5 years' hospital experience, as a Quality Assurance Pharmacist in Aseptics
Experience of working with Information systems and electronic prescribing systems
Experience working with licensed and unlicensed Aseptic units
Experience of working in an aseptic unit with proven track records of validation and service improvement
