Security Consultant
Take2 Consulting, LLC is focused on protecting the nation's cyber infrastructure, and they are seeking a Security Consultant to mitigate cybersecurity risks for the VA. Responsibilities
Work with VA to discover and mitigate their cybersecurity risks
Understand and apply policies to address requests for information on cyber best practices
Conduct modified risk assessments
Provide information system security expertise to ensure the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for research information systems and research study protocols
Support VA’s continuous monitoring efforts
Support communications and reporting efforts
Develop security reports, SOPs, and other security policy artifacts
Qualification
Required
Experienced in applying information security and assurance principles
Experience in security policy-driven approach for various modalities (devices, technologies, platforms) of data storage and transmission
Experience with reviewing and replying to Requests for Information from research partners utilizing current VA Handbooks, Directives, and NIST guidance within a standardized timeframe
Experience performing risk analysis, vulnerability assessments, and performing annual security reviews in accordance with FISMA reporting
Ability to provide expert Microsoft Office skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Ability to assist in completing tasks to continue the Department Continuous Improvement Plan, schedule and Goals
Ability to interpret data, analyze results, and provide ongoing reports, including trend identification and analysis
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or technical equivalent and 5 years of relevant experience or a total of 13 years in lieu of education
Preferred
Experience with security considerations specific to research environments
Knowledge of BigFix and SCCM software inventories
Ability to provide excellent customer service and organization skills
Ability to provide excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work flexibly in a very fast-paced environment
