Communication Assistant OPS
The University of Florida is seeking a Communication Assistant OPS to support their invasive plant research initiatives. The role involves filming and editing videos, designing print materials, managing social media, and writing blogs to communicate scientific findings.

Responsibilities
Filming and editing videos on invasive plant research – filming locations in the field and on site at UF/IFAS CAIP
Designing and/or using premade templates in Adobe Software to create a variety of print materials – mainly one-pagers with potential for other projects as well
Interviewing scientists for writing and editing blogs to be on the CAIP Blogs site
Assisting in social media management and post curation
Photographing invasive and aquatic plants
Working with the communications team to develop interesting and innovative methods of communicating invasive plant research
Other communication duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Work 10-20 hours a week
Filming and editing videos on invasive plant research – filming locations in the field and on site at UF/IFAS CAIP
Designing and/or using premade templates in Adobe Software to create a variety of print materials – mainly one-pagers with potential for other projects as well
Interviewing scientists for writing and editing blogs to be on the CAIP Blogs site
Assisting in social media management and post curation
Photographing invasive and aquatic plants
Working with the communications team to develop interesting and innovative methods of communicating invasive plant research
Applicants are expected to have some experience in the Adobe Suite, including InDesign, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop
The applicant should also have an interest in science communication and drive to learn
