The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a detail-oriented professional to join the Department of Human Services as an Accountant 2 in the Bureau of Financial Operations. This role involves analyzing regulations and policies, maintaining information for grant payment systems, and providing technical assistance to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Analyze regulations and program policies and procedures, as well as developing and maintaining information and policies necessary to operate the grant payment systems
Establish and maintain working relationships with DHS program offices, the Comptroller's Office, Auditor General's Office, County Program Fiscal Officers and Administrators, and various state and federal auditors
Provide technical assistance to officials, resolve problems regarding payment issues, and respond to inquiries from the program offices
Electronically transmit payment notification letters, computation worksheets, general invoices, refund requests, year-end summaries and billings to county or provider officials
Efficiently multi-task and work well in a team environment

Required

One year as an Accountant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting
Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation
A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience
You must meet the PA residency requirement
You must be able to perform essential job functions
