Project Engineer
CFS is seeking a Project Engineer who thrives on organization and collaboration in construction projects. In this role, you will support Project Managers throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring effective communication and documentation while managing materials and project details.
Responsibilities
Support Project Managers throughout the full construction lifecycle—from pre-construction through closeout
Coordinate seamless project hand-offs between Estimators and Project Managers
Prepare meeting minutes for hand-offs, coordination meetings, and pre- and post-construction reviews
Prepare, submit, track, and manage submittals and re-submittals
Create and maintain shop and fabrication drawings for assigned projects
Review manufacturer shop drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and company standards
Request vendor quotes, confirm lead times, and track material availability
Review plans and specs to identify scope changes and communicate updates to the Project Manager
Maintain complete and organized job files including RFIs, POs, invoices, emails, and meeting documentation
Prepare RFIs across all phases of the project
Attend project coordination and status meetings as needed
Act as a liaison with vendors for material ordering, delivery coordination, and documentation
Assist with crane pick plans, material ordering, and field coordination
Gain a strong understanding of project scopes and trade interactions to support successful execution
Qualification
Required
Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent experience
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
Preferred
1+ year of experience in construction, engineering, or project coordination preferred
AutoCAD: Ability to navigate AutoCAD and produce shop drawing sets
Technology: Comfortable using standard computer applications, file systems, and web-based tools
Communication: Able to read and interpret plans, specs, manuals, and safety rules; clearly communicate in writing and conversation
Math & Measurement: Comfortable with basic math, geometry, and field measurements (including tape measure use)
Problem-Solving: Able to think critically, adapt to changing conditions, and solve practical challenges
