Human Resources Generalist
Polygon Company is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support and drive their People Initiative. This role involves recruiting, onboarding, and administering HR programs while ensuring compliance with employment laws and fostering employee engagement.
Responsibilities
Recruits, pre-screens, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
Assists in developing and implementing onboarding and orientation programs including pre-employment requirements
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to: Performance Management, Workforce Planning, Learning and Development, Employee Relations, and Employee Engagement
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
Administers FMLA process, tracks usage, and maintains recordkeeping for compliance and attendance system
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
Plays a key role in employee engagement initiatives; planning, reviewing, implementing, and sustaining
Assist HR Manager in maintaining performance management system
Be the owner of attendance policy involving tracking all attendance occurrences with accuracy. Working closely with leaders on attendance issues
Lead the change of creating a culture of diversity, equality, and inclusion through initiatives and buy-in from leadership
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams
2+ years experience in a manufacturing human resource environment
HRIS experience, preferably Paylocity
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Effective organizational skills and attention to detail
Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Preferred
Bilingual in Spanish a plus but not required
