Lecturer - Mechanical Engineering
Tennessee Technological University is seeking a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering for a full-time, non-tenure track position starting August 1, 2026. The role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising student projects, and participating in departmental activities.

Teach courses and labs in the Mechanical Engineering Department curricula and support of the Freshman, Capstone Design and Experimental Courses
Direct and supervise student projects, maintain and update labs, advise undergraduate students
Serve on department committees
Participate in professional and public service activities
Qualification
Required
An earned BS from an accredited institution in mechanical engineering, or closely related, with a master's in mechanical engineering or a related field by the start date of employment
The ability to perform the essential functions
The ability to communicate effectively and to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with faculty, students, administrators, staff and public
The ability to teach in a variety of platforms, including fact-to-face and online
Preferred
An earned doctorate in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution
Prior teaching and/or industrial experience related to Freshman and ME Practice engineering and mentoring of undergraduate student projects
