Biosciences and Biotechnology Division Undergraduate Intern - Summer 2026
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is dedicated to advancing science and technology for national security and global stability. They are seeking undergraduate interns to engage in practical research in bioenergy, microbial communities, biodefense, and innate immunity, working closely with scientists and participating in various research activities.

Responsibilities
Work with biologists, biochemists and computational scientists engaged in research on specific projects
Participate in research in assigned area under close supervision
Gather and analyze data and perform literature searches in support of scientific research
Present work through presentations and/or poster sessions
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be eligible to access the Laboratory in compliance with Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)
Must be a continuing college or university student in good standing at an accredited institution pursuing an undergraduate degree in biochemistry, biophysics, computational biology, or a related field
Ability to apply basic scientific principles to solve technical problems
Effective communication skills
Ability to present and communicate concepts and ideas
Experience working with personal computers and familiarity with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work in a team environment
Preferred
GPA of 3.0 or above
