State Director, Center Performance

Responsibilities
Assesses opportunities Centers across the assigned state/regional area related to implementation and operational execution of InnovAge initiatives and priorities, state/regional performance improvement and/or corrective action plans and supports the Market President and Triad leadership in developing plans of action to improve results and operational efficiency and effectiveness
Utilizes PDCA methodology to fully assess opportunities, measure progress and effectiveness, and ensure initiatives are fully implemented, executed, and managed over the life of assigned projects and initiatives
Assists with the development or refinement of policies and procedures to improve operations, execution, and clarity of expectations among center staff
Conducts data analysis or makes use of existing data to prioritize activities, assess performance of key initiatives and remediation plans, inform decision making, and conduct root cause analyses
Assists with the development of the annual Forecast and budget
Utilizes department budget in compliance with established budget guidelines
Collaborates with shared service partners to achieve goals and improve the overall performance and reputation of InnovAge with regulators, stakeholders, participants
Acts as an internal consultant to Center Triad leaders to support improved understanding of FOCUS PDCA and similar performance improvement approaches, performance and operational effectiveness and efficiency at the Center and state/regional level
Advises Center Triad leaders and others regarding effective monitoring and oversight processes, including staff audit and feedback loops, to improve accountability and performance related to quality, compliance, and other KPIs established at the state/regional level as well as company level
Effectively supervises and manages direct reports and provides, by example and leadership, motivation and direction to employees of the organization
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable state and federal employment laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; recognizing and rewarding employees; corrective disciplinary procedures and practices (under direction of supervisor and in partnership with Human Resources), addressing complaints and resolving problems
Ensures annual employee performance reviews are conducted in a timely and effective manner. Evaluates performance of employees for adherence to established policies and objectives of the organization and contributions in attaining objectives
Helps set the tone of the department to ensure morale, teamwork, and that the positive employment culture of the organization is maintained
Regularly schedules leadership/management, department, and staff 1:1 meetings to provide leadership, development, and a forum for communication to ensure coordination and collaboration in meeting organization and individual goals
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business, health care administration, nursing or other clinical area, health or social sciences
Unrestricted licensure required for those with nursing or other clinical education; must be able to become licensed in all states for the region assigned
Minimum of five years' experience in process engineering, process improvements, quality, compliance or risk management, preferably in a managed care, hospital or health care related environment
Minimum ten years' total related experience
Ability to operate successfully in a matrixed organization to achieve goals across multi-functional teams with diverse experience and expertise
Current working knowledge of performance improvement, quality, opex, or compliance principles and practices related to the healthcare environment the FOCUS PDCA and/or similar models
Strong management skills and a minimum of three years' experience supervising staff

Track record of successful implementation and execution of PDCA cycle with demonstrable results
