Responsibilities
Design roadway geometry, corridors, intersections, and multimodal facilities using current state and federal standards
Perform traffic engineering analyses, roadway modeling, pavement design, and safety evaluations
Manage plan sets, specifications, and permitting processes
Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and engineering studies
Stay informed about industry trends, evolving design standards, and emerging transportation technologies
Assist in regional business development efforts and coordinate with clients, project partners, and agencies
Support growth and development of junior engineering staff, fostering a collaborative and solution-driven team environment
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in MicroStation/GEOPAK, OpenRoads Designer (ORD), AutoCAD Civil 3D, or related roadway design software
Minimum 20 years of roadway or transportation engineering experience, with an emphasis on roadway design, corridor studies, and plan production
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
Familiarity with INDOT standards, specifications, and project development processes is required
Ability to travel and work overtime as needed
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Preferred
Indiana P.E. license preferred
Proven mentoring capabilities and experience leading design teams preferred
Experience working with municipal and private-sector transportation clients is preferred
