The successful candidate will conduct angler use surveys, assist with fish population surveys, and engage in fieldwork and laboratory tasks related to aquatic invasive species and fish management.

Responsibilities
Conducting angler use surveys
Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) sampling and education efforts
Assist with fish population surveys
Ongoing research projects
Field work (netting, electrofishing, angler interviews and AIS watercraft inspection/decontamination)
Tablet/computer use (data entry)
Laboratory work (removing fish aging structures, estimating fish ages)
Maintenance associated with vehicles, equipment, buildings, and grounds
Qualification
Required
Applicant must be a current part-time or full-time student (minimum of 6 credit hours) in upcoming semester or in the immediately preceding semester
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply
By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program
Preferred
Preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior
Preference may be given to South Dakota residents
Preference may be given to students of South Dakota institutions
