Responsibilities
Deliver new and innovative solutions for cellular and Wi-Fi front-end modules in the frequency range from 700 MHz to 7 GHz
Perform architectural and feasibility studies, design, simulation, layout and characterization of various RFIC circuit blocks such as power amplifiers (PA), low noise amplifiers (LNA), high power RF switches, attenuators, couplers, and/or filters based on GaAs, SOI, SiGe and/or CMOS based technologies
Design the laminate/IPD based package and matching networks using ADS and various EM simulation tools to meet simultaneous power, bandwidth, efficiency, linearity, noise, and/or return loss requirements
Mentor others in design concepts and best practices
Publish novel design work through internal/external reports, seminars, meetings and invention disclosures
Interface with various product organizations and cross-functional teams in the company
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of related work experience and/or post-graduate degree is required
Experience in designing various RFIC circuit blocks using one or more of the technologies listed
Experience in Cadence Virtuoso, SpectreRF, Keysight ADS, and various EM simulation (EMX, Momentum, FEM, HFSS) tools
Hands-on experience with RF/microwave test equipment such as network analyzer, probe station, source/load pull system, noise figure measurements, and/or signal sources/analyzers that deal with modulated signals
Strong teamwork, communication, organization, and documentation skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet customer needs and schedules
Detail oriented to ensure delivery of high yielding designs with good margin to specifications
Preferred
15+ years of experience with M.S. or Ph.D. degrees is preferred
Familiarity with RF transceiver and front-end architectures, and their trade-offs and system specifications is a plus
End-to-end analog/RFIC development experience from definition to productization is preferred
Solid knowledge of device physics over PVT and frequency
Knowledge of data analysis and programming tools such as MATLAB, JMP, Spotfire, and ADS AEL is a plus
