Benefits Senior Associate
Pantex Plant is a leading organization focused on national security, and they are seeking a Benefits Senior Associate to participate in the implementation and administration of benefit plans. The role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, interpreting benefits, and conducting audits, while also providing support and guidance to employees regarding benefits and claims.

Responsibilities
Assists in the development and implementation of tools to assist employees in benefits selection, benefits program, leaves of absence (i.e. Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Short Term Disability), retirement plans
Fields and responds to general employee questions related to benefits, disability, and retirement programs
Prepare and reconcile data files for transmission to benefit vendors
Investigates Health and Welfare (including retiree) benefit claims and eligibility issues, including data assessments on the retiree reimbursement accounts
Provide data and one-on-one interface with internal Financial Management Assurance auditors
Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues consistent with standards, practices/policies, procedures or Department of Energy (DOE) requirements
Interface with Health and Welfare vendors, consultants, legal counsel, and vendors
Knowledge of and experience in interpreting and administering employment law (Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), FMLA, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and other government compliance regulations
Develops and conducts benefit orientations and trainings for employees to ensure understanding of available options
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and minimum 2 years of relevant experience
OR Master's degree and minimum 1 year of relevant experience
OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 10 years of completed education and/or relevant experience
Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues consistent with standards, practices/policies, procedures or Department of Energy (DOE) requirements
Knowledge of and experience in interpreting and administering employment law (Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), FMLA, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and other government compliance regulations)
Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status
The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP)
If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 CFR 709

Preferred
Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and graphics software applications
Ability to research and analyze various types of qualitative and quantitative data
Knowledge of the legal environment and where to find up-to-date laws/regulations
Possess ability to write clear, concise, and organized reports and correspondence
Build collaborative relationships and teamwork with other departments/organizations (e.g., medical, Information Technology, contracts)
Ability to independently adapt to changing priorities while completing daily activities
Certifications preferred: Professional Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Benefits Profession (CBP), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS)
Demonstrated experience understanding and applying legal and benefit plan documents
Experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
