Director of Accounting
Paro is a financial services company that specializes in alternative financing, accounting, tax, and CFO services. They are looking for a Director of Accounting to lead and manage the accounting team, oversee financial reporting, and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the accounting team to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality client deliverables
Assign and prioritize work across the team, balancing workload and capacity
Monitor team utilization, including review of Harvest hours and productivity metrics
Serve as a technical and operational resource for team members, providing guidance on complex accounting matters and client-related issues
Review and approve PTO requests and ensure appropriate coverage
Support professional development through ongoing availability and mentorship
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for assigned clients
Track and manage client deadlines to ensure all reporting requirements are met
Monitor team progress throughout the close cycle and proactively address issues or delays
Maintain regular, proactive communication with clients during close periods
Perform final review of all client closes and deliverables to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency with firm standards
Provide support to the tax team by coordinating information and document requests for clients
Oversee and manage 1099 processes for clients, including:
Planning and coordinating annual 1099 filings
Identifying eligible vendors
Ensuring timely and accurate completion and submission of filings
Prepare accurate and competitive service quotes for prospective clients
Participate in prospective client meetings to explain service offerings and address questions
Manage the onboarding process for newly engaged clients, ensuring a smooth transition and clear setup of accounting processes
Maintain strong client relationships and ensure client expectations are consistently met or exceeded
Identify opportunities where existing clients may benefit from additional support or expanded services
Collaborate with leadership to improve service delivery, scalability, and overall client satisfaction
Qualification
Required
