Principal Planner- Land Use

The Principal Planner will manage land development applications, provide recommendations to local government officials, and mentor junior planners while ensuring compliance with land use policies.
Responsibilities
Manage the comprehensive review of discretionary land development applications
Provide recommendations to the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors regarding project consistency with adopted land use policies and ordinances
Supervise and mentor up to three planners
Independently analyze complex and large-scale land development applications
Coordinate with other departments and agencies
Prioritize tasks and meet critical deadlines while managing multiple assignments
Present cohesive technical analysis to key decision-makers
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in Planning, Public Administration, Landscape Architecture, or a related field
four (4) years of related work experience in professional planning or a related field
one (1) year of supervisory experience strongly preferred
valid driver's license

Benefits
$6,000 hiring bonus in accordance with the County’s Hiring and Retention Bonus Program.
