Responsibilities

Conduct market analysis and vendor assessments to identify potential sourcing opportunities and risks
Drive vendor qualification management and contract negotiations to ensure alignment with project requirements
Support the estimating team to request and gather vendor bids, analyze cost data to support the development of comprehensive project proposals, ensure accuracy and competitiveness in pricing
Build, oversee and manage relationships with large material vendors, handling all aspects of RFP requests and ensuring timely and accurate responses
Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards
Provide ongoing support to vendors, fostering collaborative relationships and addressing any issues that may arise during the project lifecycle
Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or discrepancies to ensure compliance with contractual obligations
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes and drive cost savings
Stay ahead of industry trends and market dynamics to proactively identify opportunities for strategic sourcing and supply chain optimization
Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contract documentation, vendor information, and cost savings achievements
Provide regular updates and reports to management on procurement performance, including cost savings, vendor performance and project status
Attends weekly production backlog meetings and other meetings as requested
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to procurement activities
Ensure project time reporting is entered promptly and accurately to support accounting with cost recognition and payroll
Participate in Safety Audits
Communicate regularly with management regarding needs, objectives, issues, and open projects
Assume other duties as assigned

Required

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain
High school diploma or GED required
Proven experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a project-based environment
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights
Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relations with internal stakeholders and external vendors
Knowledge of industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory requirements in procurement and supply chain management
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a strong customer focus and the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences
Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills, demonstrating a capacity for managing multiple priorities and driving project success
Ability to travel up to 10% throughout the continental USA, reflecting flexibility and commitment to project needs
Ability to pass a stringent drug screening and background check, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and policies
Hold a valid and current driver's license with a clean driving record, demonstrating reliability and adherence to safety regulations
Eligibility to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future, ensuring legal compliance and availability for employment

Preferred

Technical school or community college coursework preferred
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, technical, or business field preferred—or equivalent additional experience
Licensures and Certifications: CSCP, CPSM or PMI Certifications preferred, but not required
An associate's degree or technical school is a plus
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or related field preferred
CSCP, CPSM, or PMI certification
Experience sourcing materials in the power/energy or construction sector
Knowledge of procurement for field-based projects and rotating equipment
Hands-on familiarity with estimating support and RFP workflows
