Responsibilities
Conduct technical assessments and analyze existing network infrastructure at client sites
Design and plan physical network systems, including:
Structured cabling systems (Cat 6 / 6A, fiber optic)
Backbone and horizontal cabling pathways
MDF / IDF rooms, racks, and cable management
Placement of active equipment (switches, access points, etc.)
Seamless Wi-Fi coverage planning
Prepare project documentation, drawings, and specifications (AutoCAD, Visio, etc.)
Estimate scope of work, materials, and labor requirements
Oversee installation work on site
Coordinate installers, subcontractors, and foremen
Ensure compliance with design specifications, industry standards, deadlines, and quality requirements
Participate in commissioning and project handover
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in network or low-voltage infrastructure
Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems, fiber optics, Wi-Fi, and active network equipment
Familiarity with ANSI/TIA/EIA and BICSI standards
Experience with on-site project execution and supervision
Ability to work independently and take ownership of engineering decisions
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Visio, and MS Office
Preferred
BICSI, RCDD, or vendor certifications
Experience with access control, video surveillance, and other low-voltage systems
OSHA certification for on-site safety
