Direct Counsel is representing an Am Law 50 global law firm seeking a Junior Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney to join its Tax, Trusts & Estates, and Employee Benefits Practice Group. This role involves advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families on wealth planning, tax strategies, and estate matters, while drafting legal documents and collaborating with senior attorneys on planning strategies.

Responsibilities

Draft estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives
Assist with estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax matters
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda addressing complex estate, tax, and trust issues
Collaborate with senior attorneys on advanced estate and tax planning strategies
Manage and maintain client files efficiently and ensure timely communication

Required

2–4 years of law firm experience, ideally in estate planning, tax, or related transactional practice
Strong knowledge of estate and tax planning and trust and estate administration for high-net-worth clients
Excellent drafting, analytical, and research skills with strong attention to detail
Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple matters simultaneously
Superior academic credentials from an accredited law school
Must be admitted to the California Bar and in good standing

Preferred

LL.M. in Taxation preferred but not required
