Responsibilities
Receive new prescription orders from authorized prescribers or individuals permitted by law
Consult with patients or their legal representatives about prescriptions, either before or after dispensing, or provide information regarding any medical details in the patient's medication record system
Identify, evaluate, and interpret prescriptions accurately
Ensure optimal medication prescribing in terms of indication, dosage, route, frequency, allergy history, and avoid duplication or interactions with other medications
Assist in the transfer of prescriptions between pharmacies, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to legal requirements
Participate in pharmacy-related tasks and programs, including supporting short-staffed areas and other necessary duties as directed
Assist in making timely changes to meet regulatory, accreditation, licensing, and government agency standards and laws
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Ability to work at a moderate pace
Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
Basic math and analytical skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Accuracy and efficiency in performing tasks
Reliable and dependable
Positive and optimistic attitude
Attentive to detail
Must have open availability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Pharmacist Intern licensure in the state of California
Preferred
One year or more of retail pharmacy experience is preferred but not required
