Senior Manager – Virtualization & Embedded Software Development Tools

Responsibilities
Define and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for technologies, tools, and platforms enabling embedded software development and virtual testing for VSEE
Oversee the development and maintenance of custom cloud-based CI/CD platforms (e.g., OPTIMUS) and software tools supporting mechatronics software development for a global user base (5,000+ users)
Direct configuration management for all repositories in the GM-SDV-EP GitHub organization (70,000+ repositories)
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of CI/CD build and test pipelines for VIP and SDV architecture-based embedded software
Integrate quality testing frameworks into OPTIMUS and enforce software quality gating and promotion
Automate and support TFRP and ITCG testing, including dashboard development for L3 and L4 software builds
Drive the development and maintenance of tools supporting embedded controls systems, regulatory compliance, diagnostics, co-simulation, calibration, and software quality
Oversee calibration management, optimization, and automation pipelines for SDV and VIP programs
Develop PowerBI dashboards for analytics, issue resolution, and readiness tracking
Lead the strategy and execution of cloud-based virtualization platforms (e.g., SOLE) for end-to-end virtual testing of embedded software
Enable deployment and cloud execution of co-simulation environments within CI/CD frameworks
Guide the development and automation of SOLE Developer Utility (SDU) and support infrastructure/application test teams
Serve as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for VSEE’s cloud compute spend and Technical Architecture Drawing (TAD) approvals
Interface with Infrastructure Engineering and IT to ensure robust support for all software development tools and IT infrastructure
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics
10+ years of engineering experience with demonstrated analytical capability
Experience managing technical software development teams
Deep understanding of automotive systems, subsystems, and embedded software development processes and tools
Familiarity with industry standards: FMI, SSP, MISRA, ISO 26262, J1979-2, J1979-3, and their impact on embedded software development tools
Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills; able to communicate effectively across all organizational levels and functions (e.g. GPD, IT, Infrastructure Engineering)
Proven ability to communicate complex technical issues to leadership and deliver solutions that ensure project timeliness
Strong project management skills with a track record of on-time delivery
Preferred
Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics
15+ years of engineering experience with demonstrated analytical capability
