Responsibilities

Under the direction of the shop supervisor, operate a variety of graphic publishing software programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to develop signage designs and delineate campus environments for proposed signage with the use of photography, illustrations and mockups. Assists Shop Supervisor on job walks with customers
Under the direction of the shop supervisor, prepare layouts and produce materials using standard skills and knowledge related to the design, creation and display of visual print, multimedia and electronic materials

Required

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and six months of related professional or technical experience required
Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of spreadsheet and word-processing programs
Ability to quickly learn and use in-house maintenance management and campus event management systems
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of administration, faculty, staff, contractors, and the general public
Proven experience in customer-service-oriented environments
Ability to maintain professionalism while multitasking and prioritizing multiple projects
Strong interpersonal abilities, creativity, and the capacity to relate well to individuals from diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and skill levels
Comfortable using paging systems such as radios and walkie-talkies, as well as multi-line phone systems
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community
Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures
Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a 'vision of excellence.'

Preferred

Proficient in various graphic design software programs including Adobe Suite package
