Responsibilities
Establishment, administration and evaluation of the Youth Gambling Awareness Program (GAP) partnering with Michigan schools to provide responsible gaming education and risk awareness
Review grant applications, determine eligibility and make recommendations for approval or denial
Perform research and analysis on gaming activity, trends, issues and opportunities to ensure educational information is relative to the current gambling landscape in Michigan
Qualification
Required
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major
Departmental Analyst 9: No specific type or amount of experience is required
Departmental Analyst 10: One year of professional experience
Departmental Analyst P11: Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service
Employment in the state classified service demands a high degree of loyalty and imposes high ethical standards on employees to ensure the integrity of state government and maintain effective services
All employees must meet these ethical standards and all appointing authorities are obligated to enforce these ethical standards
All employees are required to report any possible conflict of interest
Candidates must complete a personal reference screening, criminal background check, drug testing, and federal and state tax transcript, including fingerprinting prior to a conditional offer of employment
All persons who are not currently state employees must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test which must be administered within 24 hours of a conditional offer
Preferred
Experience in grant management/oversight
Experience creating and monitoring metrics
Experience performing research and presenting information
Experience or an interest in the gambling industry, including responsible gaming
