Responsibilities
Pitching and writing original stories for TravelAge West magazine and TravelAgeWest.com
Assisting with fact-checking and copy editing
Conducting interviews and background research
Helping produce e-newsletters and social media content
Assisting with WAVE Awards planning process as needed
Contributing to Future Leaders in Travel event planning, research surveys, marketing materials and more
Qualification
Required
Strong writing and editing skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Word
Understanding of deadlines and editorial workflows
A college student (or recent graduate) working toward a degree in English, journalism, communications or a related field
Passionate about travel, hospitality, and storytelling
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work on multiple assignments at once
Preferred
Familiarity with AP style or other editorial style guides
Experience with social media platforms in a professional or organizational setting
Basic knowledge of content management systems (e.g., WordPress)
Photo editing skills (e.g., Canva, Photoshop)
Experience working for a student publication, blog, or other media outlet
