Information Technology Specialist

Clovis Community College is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to provide technical support for networked computers and applications. The role involves supporting faculty, staff, and students, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and providing training on technology resources.

Responsibilities

Directly support CCC students, faculty, and staff in a timely and effective manner
Provide hardware support for computers, printers, scanners, VOIP phones, conferencing equipment, and miscellaneous technologies
Support events in Town Hall and other public spaces requiring technology resources
Support the broadcast and recording of Board of Trustee meetings through Zoom technology
Install, troubleshoot, and customize software packages
Provide training and training documentation on Smart Technologies in classrooms and work areas
Work with server side applets and utilities to customize the network environment for users
Streamline processes for maximum effectiveness
Provide quality end user support for onsite and remote users
Provide training as required to meet end user objectives
Quickly and effectively diagnose hardware, software and networking issues
Correct identified discrepancies quickly or elevate issues to the appropriate party
Perform routine maintenance on workstations, printers, and other equipment
Perform scheduled operation/functional inspections of classroom technologies
Work with video conferencing equipment and infrastructure to provide the best possible service
Provide well-reasoned consultation for all end user issues

Required

High school diploma
One year of experience in technical systems working with PCs, hardware, system software, and application software
Have an in depth knowledge of current client operating systems
Be familiar with the Microsoft Office package as well as Adobe products
Have a broad understanding of software functionality
Must possess exceptional interpersonal, technical, written and oral communication skills, a service-orientation and the ability to work with diverse individuals in a tactful, productive manner
Expertise in providing in-depth assistance to users in all areas of computer operations, application software utilization, and/or network processes
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Requires frequent and continuous sitting/moving about, continuous use of fine motor skills, and pushing and pulling of up to 50 lbs
Must be available to work 40 hrs. per week with normal work hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required

Preferred

Associate's degree or higher in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or related field is preferred
Two to three years of experience in technical systems working with PCs, hardware, system software, and application software
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Help desk and/or other customer relations experience preferred
