Sales Director
Wetalentia is the U.S. subsidiary of a leading Italian food company, specializing in premium Italian and European foods. They are seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead the commercial strategy for their branded portfolio in the U.S. retail market, focusing on building relationships and executing sales strategies.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute the U.S. sales strategy for their branded products portfolio
Deliver sales revenue targets
Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail customers, distributors, and broker partners
Ownership of the full commercial execution — from customer presentations and retail visits to the coordination of all sales and trade marketing activities — ensuring alignment and excellence under a unified game plan
Oversee pricing, trade spending, and promotional planning to achieve sustainable growth and profitability
Monitor market trends, category performance, and customer insights to identify new opportunities
Manage annual sales budgets, forecasts, and P&L performance
Recruit, coach, and lead a high-performing U.S. sales team as the business expands
Partner with the senior leadership team to contribute to overall U.S. growth strategy
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred
10 years of sales experience in the food & beverage CPG industry
Proven success managing branded products in the U.S. retail channel
Experience working with national retailers, distributors and broker networks. Pre-existing strong connections are a plus
Strong understanding of the commercial levers across sales, marketing, trade marketing, and operations
At least 50% travel time. Must be proactive to visit clients and stakeholders
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
Humility, self-awareness, and curiosity
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate strategically and tactically in a fast-growing environment

MBA preferred
Italian language and knowledge of imported Italian products is preferred
